Areas Notified As ‘disease Control Compartment’ For Free Treatment Of Livestock
DERA GHAZI KHAN, (Muzaffargarh.City – 26th Jul, 2017 ) : Thirteen union councils, two tribal areas and two livestock farms have been notified as ‘Disease Control Compartments’ in DG Khan division for free treatment of cattle heads for quality production of milk and meat.
Medicines worth Rs 70 million have been purchased for the purpose and the livestock officials would perform De-worming of big and small cattle heads in these areas three times a year besides providing facilities including vaccination and medical assistance to cattle heads at the door step of cattle rearers, said Director Livestock Dr.
Ashraf Anjum while presiding over a meeting here Wednesday. Areas in the vicinity of notified areas may also get the vaccination and treatment facility, he added.
He said that tribal areas of DG Khan and Rajanpur have been included under the initiative.
Veterinary staff and mobile dispensary would move from door to door to provide facilities to cattle rearers, he added. He said that in addition to tribal areas, union councils of DG Khan including Paigah, Nautak Majeed, and Nari have been notified as Disease control compartment.
Areas in Rajanpur included tribal area and UCs including Kot Tahir, Shikarpur and Omarkot. Union councils of Muzaffargarh including Sharif Chajra, Alward, Aali Wala, Juggi Wala, and UCs in Layyah including Tail Indus, Shahpur and Jamal Chapri besides two government’s livestock farms at Rakh Kheeray Wala and Fazil Pur were included in the list.
