Sector Vise Allocations In Punjab Budget 2018-19

LAHORE, (Muzaffargarh.City – 16th Oct, 2018 ) :The sector vise allocations in Punjab budget 2018-19 are; Health The government of Punjab has allocated massive resources to Health Sector as an amount of Rs 284.5 billion for Health Sector in Financial year 2018-19. The Health sector allocations include Rs. 123.8m for Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department, Rs. 134.4m for Specialized Healthcare Department, Rs. 5.9m for Population Welfare, Rs. 5.9m for Water Supply and Sanitation, making total of Rs. 284.5m.

The key Initiatives in the budget are Health Insurance Program all over Punjab. The Insurance card will help to provide free treatment to the poor people in public and private hospitals. (Rs 4.0 billion), Revamping of existing Emergencies in phases. In Phase-I Emergencies of 13 Hospitals will be revamped with an allocation of Rs 1.0 billion, Purchase of Dialysis Machines for Kidney patients to meet the current demand-supply gap, Provision of Missing Specialties for Up-gradation of DHQ Hospitals to Teaching Hospitals and D.G Khan, Gujranwala, Sialkot and Sahiwal.

(Rs. 1.18 billion), Operationalization of 250-bedded Recep Tayyip Erdogan Hospital, Muzaffargarh, Procurement of MRI Machines, Ventilators and ICU monitors for tertiary care hospitals, introduction of Uniform Service Charges for laboratory and operations in all government hospitals, Insaf program for Water Supply and Sanitation (Rs. 7 billion), Clean drinking water for healthy life (Rs.5 billion).

The preventive Health side comprises on Strengthening of Expanded Programme for Immunization (EPI) (Rs 4.3 Billion), Integrated Reproductive Maternal New Born and Child Health (IRMNCH) and Nutrition Program (Phase-II) (Rs.2.0 billion), Chief Minister’s Stunting Reduction Programme for 11 Southern Districts of Punjab, Prevention and Control of Hepatitis in Punjab (Rs 1.0 Billion), T.B Control and Infection Control Programs (Rs 2.2 Billion), Programmes for prevention and control of Non-communicable Diseases like Diabetes, Hypertension, Cancer etc and Enhanced HIV/AIDS Control Programme Punjab (3 years) (Phase-II).
