Polio Campaign In 10 Districts From October 30: Minister
LAHORE, (Muzaffargarh.City – 27th Oct, 2017 ) :Minister for Primary and Secondary Healthcare Khawaja Imran Nazir has said the Punjab government will organize a polio campaign in 10 districts from October 30 to November 3.
In a joint statement on Friday, Khawaja Imran said the campaign was a part of the Sub National Immunization Day which would focus on children in selected 10 districts deemed to be at greater risk to polio virus transmission.
The campaign will be held in Lahore, Multan, Rawalpindi, Bhakkar, Sheikhupura, Dera Ghazi Khan, Muzaffargarh, Rajanpur, Rahim Yar Khan and Mianwali districts.
He said directives had been issued to these districts to complete the necessary arrangements.
He said the provincial Emergency Operations Centre had made close coordination with these districts to ensure timely micro planning, mapping of high risk mobile population and vaccine supply. Secretary Primary and Secondary Healthcare Ali Jan Khan said that the campaign would target over 7.26 million children below five years.
He added a total of 18,414 teams would perform their duties in the campaign which included over 15,000 mobile teams, 1572 fixed and over 926 transit teams.
