Over 700,000 Saplings To Be Planted To Combat Pollution

MUZAFFARGARH, (Muzaffargarh.City – 28th Feb, 2018 ) ::Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Saif Anwar said on Wednesday that over 700,000 saplings would be planted in district Muzaffargarh to reduce phenomenon of environmental degradation being caused by gases and smoke being emitted by industrial units.

While planting a sapling to open spring plantation campaign at Centre of Excellence government boys high school in the city, DC said that plants were a natural source of producing oxygen and beautify the landscape.

He said that industrial waste was causing pollution and putting the health of the people at risk adding that enhancing the number of trees was a wise way to combat environmental degradation. He added that plantation also save people against flood threats and land erosion at river banks.

He urged the people to plant more saplings and persuade others to do so to improve environment. APP/kmr/ifi/zhr
