Woman Sets Herself On Fire In Protest Against Police

MUZAFFARGARH, (Muzaffargarh.City – 24th Jan, 2017 ) : A woman allegdly set herself on fire in protest against Khangarh police. According to police sources, Shehnaz Bibi wife of Rasheed, resident of Mauza Gajjuwine (Khangarh) set herself on fire, here on Tuesday.

Two days ago, Rasheed, the husband of affected woman, had submitted an application with Khangarh police station in which he maitained that his younger brother tortured him and other members of his family over a domestic dispute.

Khangarh police called his brothers namely Muhammad Hussain and Younis for investigation. Police put the three brothers into lock up. Shehnaz Bibi got disappointed over the police treatment towards her husband.

In a fit of frustration, she tried to commit suicide after setting herself on fire. According to doctors, 20 percent body of the woman was burnt in this incident and her condition is stable. DPO Muzaffargarh ordered inquiry into the incident. APP/kmr/atf/zqr/rn
