Three Blood Banks Sealed In Multan
LAHORE, (Muzaffargarh.City – 16th Jan, 2018 ) : On the direction of Minister for Specialized Healthcare and Medical education Khwaja Sulman Rafique, Punjab Blood Transfusion Authority (PBTA), Secretary Dr Muhammad Athar made an extensive visit to various blood banks in Punjab.
The areas visited include Sahiwal, Muzaffargarh, Multan, Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Lodhran, Bahawalnagar, Pakpattan, Chakwal, Jhelum, Gujrat and Khanewal. The purpose of the visit was to access blood banking facilities in these areas.
Both public and private blood banks were visited.
Directions were issued for improvement at the spot. He expressed dissatisfaction at blood banking facilities at Sahiwal, Gujrat and Dera Ghazi Khan.
Improvements were suggested at Khanewal and Muzaffargarh.
Three blood banks at Multan opposite Nishter Hospital were sealed. These were involved in poor blood banking practices. Blood was also being transfused at Minhaj Ul Quran blood bank opposite Nishter Hospital.
Fake blood bags and blood bag stickers were also recovered from same blood bank.
Standard of practices at Regional Blood Centers Multan and Bahawalour and also at Nishter Hospital Multan were highly appreciated.
Secretary PBTA previously visited Sargodha, Chinoit in similar connection. He reinstated that Punjab Blood Transfusion Authority will continue to make all efforts for provision of safe and healthy blood to patients across the province.
