Suspected Congo Patient Dies At Nishtar

MULTAN, (Muzaffargarh.City – 19th Dec, 2017 ) :A suspected Congo patient died at Nishtar Hospital here on Tuesday morning. According to official sources, Saleem (29) belonged to Mailsi district was admitted to Nishtar hospital here on Monday.

The patient was facing respiratory distress, the source said, adding that he was shifted to ventilator at Intensive Care Unit (ICU) where he breathed his last at 6:30 am today. When contacted, Nishtar Hospital focal person for Infectious diseases, Dr Irfan Arshad, confirmed that Saleem (29) was a suspected case of seasonal influenza.

He said that tests of the patient had been conducted at Nishtar and they were awaiting for the report to confirm whether or not he was suffering from seasonal influenza. The focal person informed the condition of such like patients deteriorated swiftly and this happened with Saleem too, adding that the patient also suffered cardiac arrest on Monday night.

Fazlain Bibi of Shah Jamal, Muzaffargarh is another suspected patient who was being treated at ICU, he concluded.
