Speedo Buses Scope To Be Extended To South Punjab Districts: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar
LAHORE, (Muzaffargarh.City – 2nd Nov, 2018 ) :Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar Friday said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government was committed to providing modern transport facilities to people and for the purpose, the scope of Speedo buses would be extended to different cities of southern Punjab.
He was presiding over a high-level meeting at his office in which matters relating to transport department and its performance were discussed.
The meeting proposed that passengers should also be allowed to travel in Speedo buses in Lahore without card and fare should be collected after passengers boarding of buses.
The meeting reviewed different proposals for increasing the number of passengers in Speedo buses plying in Lahore.
The CM directed the authorities concerned that the launch of Speedo buses should reviewed in DG Khan, Kot Addu, Multan, Muzaffargarh and Taunsa on the pattern of Lodhran and Bahawalpur and a feasibility report should be presented soon by the transport department.
He said that the number of passengers should be increased in speedo buses and different proposals should be given final shape soon. He said that proposal of travel in speedo buses without card is laudable. “Increase in the number of passengers will be possible after permission is granted to travel without a card,” he said.
The CM said that work should also be started to take necessary steps for starting modern buses in Faisalabad as it was the third largest city in Pakistan.
Provincial Transport Minister Muhammad Jehanzeb Khan Khichi, Secretary Transport, MD Punjab Mass Transit Authority and others attended the meeting.
