Seasonal Influenza Cases: Death Toll Rises To 14

MULTAN(Muzaffargarh.City – 04th Jan, 2018 ) :The toll of seasonal influenza cases rose to 14 with the death of another female patient who was tested positive here at Intensive Care Unit of Nishtar hospital.

Nishtar hospital Focal person for infectious diseases, Dr Irfan Arshad told APP on Thursday that Zakiya (35) hailed from Muzaffargarh was a suspected seasonal influenza patient who was tested positive.

Zakiya breathed her last at ICU on Wednesday evening, he said and added that she was the third patient who belonged to Muzaffargarh and died at Nishtar. Fazlan Bibi and Azeem were also from the same city, he informed.

Dr Irfan stated that they had received reports of Zakiya today after her death that she was a confirmed seasonal influenza patient. Most of the patients who died of seasonal influenza hailed from Multan, he concluded.
