Punjab Health Minister Pays Surprise Visit To DG Khan Hospital
LAHORE, (Muzaffargarh.City – 21st Feb, 2018 ) :Punjab Minister for Specialized Healthcare & Medical education (SH&ME) Kh. Salman Rafique paid a surprise visit to the under construction project of extension of Dera Ghazi Khan teaching hospital, on Tuesday.
The Minister reviewed the pace of work on the 370-bed extension block and directed to accelerate the construction work on the project. He disclosed that Rs 4.5 billion had been spent on the project and after operationalisation of the new hospital, people not only from Dera Ghazi Khan Division but also from adjoining areas of Balochistan, KPK and Sindh would also be benefited from the state of the art medical facilities in this hospital of Punjab.
Kh. Salman Rafique also took a round of different departments and inspected the renovation work of the Gynae ward. He also reviewed the arrangements of Sehat Card counter for the patients. While talking to the media Kh.
Salman Rafique said that hopefully, the extended block of the hospital would be functional in the month of April. He said that Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif was taking keen interest in the completion of 500 beds of teaching hospital of DG Khan and 250 beds hospital of Tayyip Erdogan Muzaffargarh, adding that the CM had given task to the senior officers for strict monitoring of both the projects for early completion.
Kh. Salman Rafique directed the concerned officers and contractor to give timeline for the completion of the civil works, fixation of lift, installation of centralized air conditioner, heat system and other equipments.
He also directed to immediately start construction of laundry and fixation of fire system in the hospital. The Minister said that all the concerned departments officers should remain in close contact for this purpose and work should be carried out with collective wisdom.
Meanwhile, Minister SH&ME Kh. Salman Rafique also met the students of tribal areas of DG Khan Division and assured that sympathetic consideration would be given for allocation of admission quota for the tribal students in the Ghazi Medical College.
On the occasion Special Secretary Health Dr Sajjid Mehmood Chohan, Commissioner DG Khan Ahmad Ali Kumboh, Principal Dr Syed Ahmad, MS Dr Attique-Ur-Rehman and the officers of C&W Department were also present. APP/mnb/zqr
