Punjab Food Authority Seals Nine Food Points
MULTAN, (Muzaffargarh.City – 21st Jun, 2018 ) :The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) crackdown continued against substandard food businesses and teams sealed nine food outlets including four sweet shops, one ice-cream factory and two ice factories and food points each on Thursday.
The food safety teams imposed Rs 132,500 fine on 11 food business operators and served notices on several food points.
The crackdown was carried out in Multan, Layyah, Muzaffargarh, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur and adjacent areas.
In other activities, Ismael Ice Cream distributer and Rana Pan Shop was shut down for selling prohibited products, poor storage system and poor hygiene issues.
In DG Khan, Yasir Sweets and MA Bakery were closed owing to presence of insects, smelly environment and wrong labelling, whereas Blue Life Pure Drinking Water was sealed for not following the previous instructions of the authority and unavailability of filer record.
Similarly, Shangrila Sweets and Bakers was shut down in Khanewal and Super Revari Sweets in Multan city, for using chemicals and loose colour in preparation of sweets. The PFA issued fine tickets of Rs 65,000 to eight food points in DG Khan and imposed Rs 67,500 fine on six outlets in Multan and its surrounding areas.
The raiding teams destroyed 150 litres of flavoured ice cream, 50-kg prohibited Banaspati Ghee, 30-kg sweets, 30-kg substandard sugar syrup, nimko and other poor quality edibles.
