PTS Transports 300,000 Energency Critical Patients In Punjab

LAHORE, (Muzaffargarh.City – 10th Jul, 2018 ) :The Patient Transfer Service (PTS) shifted 300,000 critical patients from Primary to specialised healthcare facilities in Punjab from February 2017 till date.

Presiding over a meeting of Rescue Officers at the Emergency Services Headquarters here on Tuesday, Director General Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) Dr Rizwan Naseer said that the PTS had proved to be a blessing for the ailing patients, especially in rural areas of the province. He also congratulated all the District Emergency Officers & emergency staff of Patient Transfer Service (PTS) in this regard.

“We accepted the PTS as a challenge in 2017 as this responsibility was given to the Punjab Emergency Service by the Chief Minister Punjab,” he said, adding we received around 500 physically fit ambulances from the Health Department Punjab, recruited emergency staff for PTS and now shifting of 300,000 patients to specialised healthcare facilities are fruitful outcomes of the initiative.

According to the data, 10,336 emergency critical patients were shifted by Lahore, 9,559 by Rawalpinidi, 12,970 by Faisalabad, 14,160 by Multan, 10,840 by Gujranawala, 7,672 by Sargodha, 5,166 DG Khan, 6,926 Bahawalpur, 12,743 Rahim Yar Khan, 7,064 Sahiwal, 4,235 Sialkot, 2,344 Murree, 6,948 Attock, 5,626 Rajanpur, 3,630 Jhelum, 14,751 Khanewal, 15,009 Muzaffargarh, 9,335 Bahawalnagar, 5,629 Jhang, 2,871 Gujrat, 11,996 Kasur, 9,169 TT Singh, 6,391 Mianwali, 7,074 Pakpattan, 6,181 Bhakkar, 2,744 Chakwal, 6,632 Hafizabad, 3,882 Khushab, 11,427 Layyah, 9,177 Lodhran, 5,118 Mandi Bahauddin, 7,759 Nankana Sahib, 5,732 Narowal, 8,940 Okara, 14,785 Sheikhupura, 8,911 Vehari and 7,772 by Chiniot district.

The Director General further said the PTS enhanced operational efficiency of Rescue 1122 and overcome rural challenges in shifting emergency critical patients from primary healthcare facilities in rural areas to the specialised healthcare facilities in urban areas of the province.

“By providing immediate & free of cost transportation of emergency critical patients, the PTS has significantly improved the sense of safety amongst citizens,” he added. He said the Service has utilized available resources in effective manner and now this Service has become the symbol of safety among citizens of the province.
