PO Killed In Encounter With Police

RAJANPUR, (Muzaffargarh.City – 16th Jun, 2017 ) : A notorious proclaimed offender (PO) was killed in an encounter with police in the precincts of Harand police station near tribal area while he was fleeing after snatching a motorcycle from a person.

DSP Circle Tehsil Jampur Asif Rasheed told newsmen that the accused accompanying his other accomplices had snatched a motorcycle from a person Saleem Hajjana at Police Station Muhammadpur area of tehsil Jampur and escaped.

Jampur circle police started chasing the accused. Police teams from Harand, Muhammadpur Diwan and Dajal police stations also joined and spotted them in area of Harand police station near tribal area where an encounter took place and the accused, later identified as Manzoor Ahmad alias Kulhara Ahmadani, was killed.

His two accomplices managed to escape. Police recovered motorcycle and a Kalashnikov. The body of the deceased was sent to THQ hospital Jampur where his postmortem examination was conducted. He was allegedly involved in many cases of dacoity, murder, kidnapping for ransom, and robbery registered with police stations Jampur, Zahir Pir, DG Khan and Muzaffargarh.

DSP Asif Rasheed said that efforts were being made to arrest the escaped dacoits.
