Pb Govt’s Plan To Promote Date Trees Progressing Successfully

MULTAN, Sept 13 (Muzaffargarh.City – 13th Sep, 2017 ) : Assistant Director Agriculture Information Naveed Asmat Kohloon said that Punjab government’s plan to promote date Trees was in progress with a rapid pace in the province.

He stated that the government was distributing Date (Khajoor) Trees among farmers. Date trees are being given free of cost to farmers under particular criteria, Naveed Asmat informed this in press release issued here.

He informed the Punjab government was paying immense focus on promotion of high valued crops with an objective to empower farmers economically and strengthen economy.

The trees are provided in 9 districts including Rajanpur, Multan, Muzaffargarh, Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Bhakkar and another three districts of the province.

In Multan, 36,700 plants would be provided to farmers. He informed that dates trees would be installed at an area of 367 acres. The famous variety “Ajwa” is also part of the promotion campaign.
