One Held For Selling Black Polythene Bags

MUZAFFARGARH, (Muzaffargarh.City – 27th Dec, 2016 ) : A man was arrested for selling banned black polythene bags during a raid at Sanawan here Tuesday. This was stated by District Officer Environment Syed Ashfaq Ahmad.

He said that legal action against the sellers and manufacturers of illegal polythene bags was continue in the district. Giving details he said that 150 challans against sellers of banned polythene bags had already been submitted to Senior Civil Judge and Environment Magistrate so far.

He said, today Inspector (environment department) Fayyaz Ahmed conducted raid at Sanawan and arrested a seller and recovered 16 kg bags from his possession. Challan against the accused has also been submitted to the court of senior civil judge, he added.

He warned shopkeepers not to use/sale banned black polythene bags. He said that, under Rules 2004 of Polythene Bags Ordinance 2002, sale, preparation and use of black polythene bags those having thickness below 15 Micron have been banned.
