Multan Electric Power Company Imposes Rs 3bn Fine On Power Pilferers

MULTAN, (Muzaffargarh.City – 28th Jun, 2018 ) :Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO) has imposed over Rs 3 billion fine on 1,030,000 power pilferers and recovered over Rs 2.46 billion during the last 11 months across the region.

According to MEPCO sources, Rs 522 million fine was imposed on 56,590 power pilferers and over Rs 411 million were recovered in Multan Circle; Rs 634 million fine was imposed on 58,514 power pilferers in Dera Ghazi Khan and over Rs 442 million were recovered; Rs 222 million fine was imposed on 77,734 power pilferers in Vehari and over Rs 190 million were recovered; Rs 330 million fine was imposed and Rs 160,919 were recovered in Bahawalpur; and Rs 212 million fine was imposed on 51,655 in Sahiwal and over Rs 170 million were recovered; Rs 298 million fine was imposed on 261,358 in Rahim Yar Khan and over Rs 246 million were recovered, Rs 316 million fine was imposed on 137,493 in Muzaffargarh and Rs 300 million were recovered; Rs 136 million fine was imposed on 98,954 in Bahawalnagar and over Rs 111 million were recovered; and Rs 352 million fine was imposed on 127,161 power pilferers in Khanewal circle and over Rs 307 million were recovered from July 2017 to May 2018.
