Independence Day Celebrated In South Punjab
MULTAN, (Muzaffargarh.City – 14th Aug, 2017 ) : Like other parts of the country, 70th Independence Day of Pakistan was celebrated in South Punjab including Multan, Khanewal and Muzaffargarh with national enthusiasm, on Monday.
Different seminars, flag hoisting ceremonies and other events were organized by the City District government and other organizations. The main ceremony was organized by City District government at Qasim Fort in which State Minister Javed Ali Shah, Mayor Multan Naveed-Ul-Haq Arain, Commissioner Multan Bilal Butt, RPO Sultan Azam Taimuri, Deputy Commissioner Nadir Chatha and other senior officers of different departments were present.
The flag hoisting ceremony was organized in which national flag was hoisted by the member of Pakistan Movement, Khursheed Raza Gardezi. On minute silence was observed before start of national anthem in the ceremony.
The officials of Punjab police, patrolling police, traffic wardens and Rescue 1122 performed march past in front of the participants. Children from different schools presented tableaus, speeches and dramas on the occasion.
Special prayers were offered for the success, progress and prosperity of the country. Mayor Multan Naveed-Ul-Haq Arrain presented shields to members of Pakistan Movement and lauded their sacrifices.
Strict security arrangements were made by the district police and 1,412 police officials were deputed at different points of the city to maintain law and order situation. A total of 23 ceremonies of Jashan-e-Azadi were organized in the city while Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Rescue 1122, WASA Multan, Pakistan Muslim League-Functional and other organizations also organized various events to celebrate the Independence Day of Pakistan.
Similarly, various ceremonies were organized in Khanewal and Muzaffargarh in connection with Independence Day celebrations. The participants of the ceremonies paid tribute to the members of Pakistan Movement.
In Muzaffargarh, main ceremony was organized by District Council in which members of the District Council, DC Saif Anwar, SSP Investigations Saif Ullah Khattak, PML-N district president Malik Arshad and others participated.
Another event was organized by district officer population welfare Muzaffargarh. The main ceremony in Khanewal was organized in District Headquarters in which MPA Amir Hayyat Hiraj, Chairman District Council Engineer Muhammad Raza Sargana, DPO Jahanzaib Nazir Khan, ADCR Manzoor Khan and others participated.
