Govt Resolving Minorities’ Issues On Priority Basis: Minister

MUZAFFARGARH, (Muzaffargarh.City – 31st May, 2019 ) ::Provincial Minister for Human Rights and Minorities Affairs Ijaz Alam Augustine has said that the government is taking practical steps to provide basic facilities of health and education to masses, especially minority communities.

He said that common man could avail up to Rs 7 lakh medical treatment facility through health cards.

The minister was addressing a ceremony, held for giving away educational scholarship to 389 students of south Punjab districts including Rahim Yar Khan, Bahawalpur, DG Khan, Layyah and Muzaffargarh on Friday. He said that scholarship were being offered to students over their good performance, and quota has also been allocated for minorities in these scholarships.

He said that the Punjab government was implementing provision of clean water and sewerage restoration projects in minorities residential areas. He said that the purpose of distributing scholarship was to encourage students so that they work hard to bring a good name to the country.

He directed Layyah deputy commissioner to take action according to the government policy for graveyard land for Hindu community.

Parliamentary Secretary for Community Affairs Mahindar Pal Singh said on the occasion that water filtration plants were being set up in minorities areas of DG Khan and Layyah districts while filteration plants would be installed in Muzaffargarh and Rajanpur districts in the second phase.
