Cotton Competition To Seek Superior Breeds, High Produce

LAHORE, (Muzaffargarh.City – 18th Jul, 2018 ) :Punjab government would organize cotton competition 2018-19 at district and provincial levels to help farmers enhance cotton produce, besides obtaining higher quality yield.

A spokesman of the agriculture department said on Wednesday that farmers belonging to district Bahawalpur, Bahwalnagar, Rahim Yar Khan, Lodhran, Khanewal, Vehari, Multan, Muzaffargarh, Rajanpur, DG Khan, Sahiwal, Layyah, Bhakkar and Jhang could submit applications to join this scheme.

As per rules set for this scheme, male or female having three or above acres of land, landlords doing cooperative farming, tenants/contactors after verification of their documents from tehsil committee would be eligible to submit applications.

Farmers with three acres land or more will present their produce (free from pesticide residuals and according to International standards) to join this competition.

Interested farmers could get the application forms from Assistant Director Agriculture (Ext) and Agriculture Officer (Ext) of their respective districts.

Farmers could download this application form from official website of agriculture department www.agripunjab.gov.pk and photocopy of this application form would also be acceptable. Last date for submission of applications is July 31.

The spokesman said agricultural machinery would be awarded as prizes to the winners.
