Competition To Help In Obtaining Quality Yield Of Cotton

LAHORE, (Muzaffargarh.City – 27th Jul, 2018 ) :Punjab government is going to organise cotton competition 2018-19 at provincial and district levels which will help in encouraging farmers to enhance cotton production besides obtaining quality yield.

A spokesman for the agriculture department said on Friday that farmers belonging to districts Bahawalpur, Bahwalnagar, Rahim Yar Khan, Lodhran, Khanewal, Vehari, Multan, Muzaffargarh, Rajanpur, DG Khan, Sahiwal, Layyah, Bhakkar and Jhang could submit their applications for this scheme.

As per terms and conditions of this scheme, male or female having three or above acres of land, landlords doing cooperative farming, tenants/contractors after verification of their documents from tehsil committee would be eligible to submit application.

Farmers from land of three acres will present their production free from pesticide residuals and according to international standards will offer for this competition.

Interested farmers could get application forms from Assistant Director Agriculture (Ext) and Agriculture Officer (Ext) of their respective districts.

Farmers could download this application form from official website of the agriculture department www.agripunjab.gov.pk and photocopy of this application form would also be acceptable. Last date for submission of application is July 31.

The spokesman said agricultural machinery would be given as prizes among winners.
