Agriculture Marketing Wing Decides To Start 2nd Phase Of Model Markets

LAHORE, (Muzaffargarh.City – 4th Oct, 2018 ) :Agriculture Marketing wing has decided to start second phase regarding establishment of Model Markets in Punjab.

During a monthly progress review meeting of Agriculture Marketing held under the chairmanship of Special Secretary Agriculture (Marketing) Ehsan Bhutta last month, it was decided to transform 25 markets into Model markets, said a handout issued here on Thursday.

During the first phase of the project, fruit and vegetable markets Hafizabad, Gujranwala, Muzaffargarh, Rajanpur, D.G Khan, R.Y Khan, Bahawalpur, Multan, Burewala, Kehror Pakka, Dina, Talagang, Depalpur, Pakpattan, Bhakkar,Samundri, Faisalabad, Chiniot, Kaacha (Lahore), Sheikupora, Nankana Sahib and Grain Markets of khanewal, Chichawatni, Sargodha, Piplan had been converted into model market.

These model markets have cleanliness along with anti-dengue, fruit fly management measures and maximum tree plantation and were free from encroachments.

These markets are under observation with no malpractice there. schedule of market fee, commission and daily rates were displayed at prominent places in model markets.

Auction was supervised to ensure transparency and daily rates were also prepared in accordance with the auction prices.

Now during its second phase fruit, vegetable and grain markets of Bhakkar, Khanpur, Fortabbas, Ahmadpur Sharqia, Multan, Okara, Gujjarkhan and Arifwala were being transformed into model markets.

Ehsan Bhutta Special Secretary Agriculture (Marketing) Punjab has said that auction was being recorded.

These model markets ensure the provision of cheap and quality daily commodities to public. After evaluation, other provincial markets would be structured accordingly in the public interest.
