Sardar Awais Leghari Meets Shehbaz
LAHORE, (Muzaffargarh.City – 26th Oct, 2016 ) : Member National Assembly from Dera Ghazi Khan Sardar Awais Leghari met Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif here on Wednesday. Matters regarding ongoing development projects worth billions of rupees for the welfare of people of south Punjab and setting up of Fort Monroe Welfare City were discussed in the meeting.
Talking to Sardar Awais Leghari, Shehbaz Sharif said progress and prosperity of people of south Punjab was very dear to him and the PML-N government had always given priority to uplift of south Punjab and prosperity of the people of this region.
He said a sum of Rs 173 billion was being spent on the development of South Punjab during the current financial year and a number of megaprojects were being executed expeditiously. He said 138-kilometer long roads for the benefit of the people of tribal areas of DG Khan and Rajanpur were being constructed while metro bus project for the provision of modern transport facilities of international standard in Multan, the biggest city of south Punjab, was nearing completion.
Shehbaz Sharif said metro bus project was a splendid gift for the people of south Punjab as modern, speedy and economical transport facility would become available to the people of Multan and south Punjab through metro buses.
Shehbaz Sharif said potable water was the right of every citizen and a project worth billions of rupees had been started for the supply of clean drinking water to the people of south Punjab.
He said more than 80 modern water filtration plants had been installed in five Tehsils of south Punjab.
He said Fort Monroe Development Authority had been set up to make Fort Monroe a tourist spot in south Punjab and this step would result in promotion of tourism as well as development of the area.
The Chief Minister said the Punjab government had taken effective measures for the development of public health sector. He said modern treatment facilities had become available to the masses due to setting up of a state-of-the-art hospital in Muzaffargarh, adding the Punjab government was implementing a balanced development policy, as public service was the hallmark of PML-N.
He said he was personally monitoring the pace of ongoing welfare projects in south Punjab. He said journey of progress and prosperity would continue under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.
Member National Assembly Awais Leghari appreciated the vision of Chief Minister with regard to uplift and prosperity of south Punjab and said provincial government led by Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif had taken revolutionary steps for the development of this region.
