ISLAMABAD, (Muzaffargarh.City – 24th Nov, 2016 ) : The Supreme Court on Thursday directed the Punjab Government to get vacated the Sardar Koray Khan Trust land from land grabbers till January 5, 2017.
A division bench of the court comprising Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan and Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed heard the suo-moto notice case on the application of Muzaffar Hussain Khan and Mansoor Ahmed Shah, Advocates, regarding Mismanagement of Waqaf Property in Muzaffargarh.
During the course of proceedings, Additional Advocate General Punjab Razzaq A Mirza appeared before the court and submitted report regarding handling of trust land. The court after reviewing the report rejected it and remarked that the management committee illegally minted money from the land.
The counsel for Punjab government appraised the court that people grabbed the trust land due to political influence. On which, Justice Azmat remarked that millions of rupees were illegally minted during lease of the land but the corruption case was not referred to National Accountability Bureau (NAB) against any government servant.
He observed that the committee favoured the blue eyed people in lease of land. Razzaq A Mirza informed the court that Rs 5 million were looted from Sardar Koray Khan Trust and pleaded the court to refer the matter to NAB for further investigations.
The court directed the judge anti-corruption Muzaffargarh to early dispose of the trust land cases and adjourned hearing of the case till January 5.
