Rs 173bln Mega Projects To Bring Prosperity To South Punjab
LAHORE, Mar 11(Muzaffargarh.City – 11th Mar, 2017 ) : During the current financial year, Rs 173 billion are being spent on development projects of south Punjab, which would change the fate of the area by bringing progress and prosperity there.
The Punjab government was carrying out unprecedented development projects in south Punjab, which were being accomplished swiftly. Member National Assembly Awais Legahri told APP that it was worth appreciation that the Punjab government was working on different projects on priority basis.
The completion of Metro Bus project in Multan was a gift for the people of south Punjab, he added. “Now the travel facilities of international standard was being provided to general public in Multan,” he added.
Awais said that Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif had taken unprecedented initiatives for the welfare of the people of south Punjab. Bahawalpur Mayor Aqeel Anjum said allocations for mega development projects in south punjab showed the government priority of raising the living standard of people.
He said that the government has also earmarked Rs 44 billion to launch the Safe City Project in six cities of south Punjab. The project would be completed in December 2017, he added. Providing details of the allocations for these projects, a former senior official of Planning and Development Department, Dr Mehmood Khalid Qamar, said that the government allocated Rs 100 million for Bahauddin Zakariya University, Rs 302 million for establishment of a women’s college in Qadirpur Raan, Rs 33 million for establishment of a women’s college in Muzaffargarh, Rs 12 million for a men’s college in Kabeerwala and Rs 277 million were being spent on Muhammad Nawaz Sharif University in Multan.
Advisor to Prime Minister, Makhdoom Adeel-ur-Rehman said that due to prudent economic policies of the government, national economy had been strengthened and today Pakistan was more secure and developed compared with the year 2013.
The PML-N government is serving masses, considering it as a sacred job. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, the day is not far when Pakistan’s economy will be strengthened, he added.
He said that establishment of Khawaja Farid Engineering Information Technology University, a cadet college, the construction of a bridge on River Indus, connecting Rajanpur and Rahim Yar Khan, upgradation of teaching hospital in Dera Ghazi Khan and the establishment of a veterinary university in Bahawalpur were being accomploshed at a fast pace.
