Kidnapped Police Officials Free After Operation In Rajanpur
RAJANPUR, (Muzaffargarh.City – 21st Aug, 2017 ) – Seven police officials,including an assistant sub inspector, who were kidnapped by armed dacoits on Sunday were freed after a police operation in riverine area of the district here on Monday.
Around fifteen armed dacoits had kidnapped, seven policemen from Pattan Lundwala, a riverine area of tehsil Rojhan, on Sunday when they were patrolling towards another picket Nabi Shah by a boat.
Talking to media persons, DPO Rajanpur Atiq Tahir said following the kidnapping incident in the precincts of Bangla Ichcha police station, RPO Dera Ghazi Khan, Rehmatullah Khan Niazi called police force from Rajanpur,Rahimyar Khan,Muzaffargarh and DG Khan districts and sealed the Katcha area from all sides.
An exchange of fire continued for few hours between the police and kidnappers.
ASI Muzammil Sanjrani,and constables Jamshed, Safdar, Luqman, Zeeshan, Shakir and Sabir were safely recovered but the criminals managed to escape taking advantage of dense forest surrounding River Indus area.
DPO Rajanpur said that police teams were making efforts to arrest the fleeing criminals.He expressed that they were off-shoots of Chotu gang and were disturbing peace. The DPO re-affiremed his resolve and commitment to arrest the remaining criminals of Chotu gang as early as possible.
