Rs 15m To Be Spent On Construction Work Of Fish-hatchery
MULTAN, (Muzaffargarh.City -27th Augst,2016) : Deputy Director Fisheries Rana Riasat said here Saturday that Rs 15 million would be spent on the construction work of fish hatchery at Muhammad Nagar, Pak-Pattan area, for the production of fish-seed. He said the construction work on 12 acre land would be started soon after getting the land on lease, for production of fish-seed.
He said Rs. 15 million would be spent and this project would be completed within one-year, adding after the completion of fish hatchery, fish-seed would be available on cheaper rates for local fish farmers.
He said they were producing over 4,00,000 fish seed every year in Multan and offered fish-seed to fish farmers on prescribed rates issued by the Punjab government. He said the district Muzaffargarh was producing 60 percent of the whole fish production of the province and advised the fish farmers to produce catfish including soul, singhari and malli.
He said they had succeeded to produce fish in barren area and now they were experimenting to produce fish in saline and brackish water areas of DG Khan.
