82,260 Emegency Victims Rescued During Last Month
LAHORE, Oct 2 (Muzaffargarh.City – 02nd Oct, 2017 ) : The Punjab Emergency Services (Rescue-1122) rescued 82,260 victims of different incidents during 68,442 operations across the province in the last month.
The emergency calls to which Rescue 1122 responded to include: 23,618 road accidents, 33,573 medical emergencies, 847 fire incidents, 1,879 crimes, 78 drowning incidents, 32 building collapses and 8,408 miscellaneous operations.
According to the statistics, majority of fire incidents occurred in major cities, including 218 fires in Lahore, 87 in Faisalabad, 68 in Multan, 62 in Rawalpindi, 32 in Gujranwala and 22 in Sialkot.
Similarly, 4,108 traffic accidents were reported in Lahore, 1,988 in Faisalabad, 1,530 in Multan, 1404 in Gujranwala and 906 in Bahawalpur.
Director General Punjab Emergency Services (Rescue-1122) Dr Rizwan Naseer carried out a performance review of emergency operations during the month of Sept in all 36 districts of Punjab.
Dr Rizwan Naseer said that Patient Transfer Service has shifted around 129,410 emergency patients from Primary to specialised healthcare facilities all over Punjab. He further said that maximum 6,300 patients were shifted in Multan, 6,000 in Khanewal, 5,300 in Muzaffargarh and the rest of the patients were provided free-of-cost emergency services in other districts.
He directed all the District Emergency Officers to continue organising mock exercises in all flood prone districts of the province.
