12 New Sports Projects Launched In DG Khan: Secretary Sports Punjab

LAHORE, (Muzaffargarh.City – 19th Jan, 2018 ) :The Punjab government, under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif, is making solid efforts to provide the best sports facilities in southern Punjab where 12 new sports projects at a cost of Rs 500 million have been launched in Dera Ghazi Khan division.

This was stated by Secretary Sports Punjab Muhammad Aamir Jan while addressing a meeting at DG Khan Commissioner Office, on Friday. Aamir Jan said: “Timely completion of sports projects in south Punjab is our top priority.

No complacency will be tolerated in this regard.” He formed a committee to review progress of construction work at sports projects in this part of the province. “Dozens of sports projects have been completed while several are near completion.

The 12 new sports projects have been started under the supervision of Project Management Unit (PMU).” Secretary Sports Punjab further said that modern instruments have been provided to DG Khan sports gymnasium.

“A many as 25 astro-turfs for hockey fields are being laid across the province including DG Khan. We will also hold U-16 Inter-District sports competitions this year,” he added. Prior to the meeting, the contractors and officials concerned gave him a detailed briefing about the construction work at various under-construction sports facilities in the region.

Aamir Jan also checked the construction work in DG Khan Divisional Sports Complex, gymnasium, cricket ground, E-Library and hostel. District Sports Officer (DSO) DG Khan Ghulam Murtaza, DSO Layyah Saifur Rehman, DSO Muzaffargarh Jamil Kamran, PMU officers and contractors were also present during the visit.

He also observed the quality of work at various parts of DG Khan Sports Gymnasium. He directed the relevant contractors to complete the remaining work on sports venues as early as possible.
