MULTAN, (Muzaffargarh.City – 29th Jun, 2017 ) : The Punjab government has allocated Rs 151 million in the budget 2017-18 for a small zoo in Taunsa Sharif, tehsil of district Dera Ghazi Khan.
Another Rs 49 million were allocated for establishment of Rescue 1122 Centre in Taunsa city. The provincial government has allocated more funds for four projects of DG Khan division, including zoo and Rescue 1122 centre in Taunsa Sharif, besides Rs 24 million for shelter home in Layyah, and Rs 181 million for improvement in Bio-diversity parks at all the four districts, including DG Khan, Layyah, Muzaffargarh and Rajanpur, the official sources said.
According to budget documents, a sum of Rs 603 million were allocated for emergency services schemes in Punjab, including seven new schemes worth Rs 70 million. A sum of Rs 578 million was allocated for 26 schemes of social welfare which included Rs 95 million for 11 new schemes.
Moreover, Rs 480 million were allocated for a dozen of schemes for improving environment, including seven new schemes worth Rs 322 million. Sixteen schemes for wildlife protection would cost Rs 479 million which also included six new schemes worth Rs 142 million.
