LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar presided over a high-level meeting at Circuit House Multan.
While addressing the meeting, the chief minister said that a new era of development has been started and the unjustified distribution of development funds has been stopped.

Buzdar said that an under-construction bridge between Layyah and Taunsa Sharif will be connected with Shorkot Interchange through a road network. He added that the approval has been granted to set up DG Khan Waste Management Company while the notification of DG Khan Development Authority and Tribal Area Development Authority will be issued soon.
“Instructions have also been issued to improve the capacity of border military police (BMP) of tribal areas besides giving promotions to the police officials,” Buzdar said and announced that it has been decided to fill the 533 vacant posts of BMP, directing to complete the recruitment process in a transparent manner.
The chief minister also directed to expedite work on development schemes while ensuring the quality of development work. He gave a deadline to complete the Muzaffargarh-DG Khan Highway by March 31 and made it clear that further delay will not be tolerated.
He said that alternate traffic arrangements, during the construction of roads, should be ensured and the traffic problems of the people of DG Khan arising due to the construction of roads should be solved immediately. He said that under-construction roads in the suburbs of DG Khan should be completed soon and footpaths should also be constructed along the under-construction roads in Taunsa Sharif. Similarly, roads should be carpeted and water drainage arrangements should also be ensured.
The chief minister directed to complete the Sakhi Sarwar-Ronghan road within six months. He also gave approval to the construction of the road from Head No. 22 of Head Taunsa Barrage to Taunsa Sharif through Hero and Basti Makool and hoped that distance to Taunsa Sharif will be curtailed as a result of the construction of this road connectivity.
