Mepco Imposes Rs 3.4m Fine

MULTAN, (Muzaffargarh.City – 14th Dec, 2018 ) :Task Force of Multan Electric Power Company (Mepco) imposed fine of Rs 3.4 million on 132 power pilferers during a crack down across 13 districts of the region here on Friday.

According to Mepco sources, in line with special directions of CEO Mepco Engineer Muhammad Akram Chaudhry, Mepco task force launched a crack down and caught 132 power pilferers.

The task force imposed fine Rs 3.4 million on them for stealing 209000 units. The power pilferers include 17 in Multan circle, 21 in DG Khan circle, 12 in Vehari circle, eight in Bahawalpur circle, eight in Sahiwal circle, 22 in Rahim Yar Khan circle, 15 in Muzaffargarh circle, six in Bahawalnager and 23 were caught in Khanewal circle.

The Mepco task force also got registered FIRs against 24 power pilferers with the police stations concerned, sources added.
