MEPCO Held 137 Power Pilferers, Imposes Rs. 5.3mln Fine

MULTAN, (Muzaffargarh.City – 28th May, 2019 ) :Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO) caught 137 power pilferers during operation at South Punjab in a day.

MEPCO official said Tuesday that teams accompanying task forces raided different areas of Multan, Vehari, Sahiwal, Rahimyar Khan, Muzaffargarh, Bahawalnagar, Khanewal, and Dera Ghazi Khan on May 27 and detected theft of some 328,000 units and Rs 5.

3 million fine was imposed to the power pilferers.

FIRs were got registered against four of them on the charges of meter-tampering, direct power supply, installing meter loops, slowing down meters, meter dead stop and meter screen wash etc.
