MULTAN, (Muzaffargarh.City – 22nd Jan, 2019 ) :Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO) task force caught 74 electricity pilferers, during an operation here on Tuesday.
According to official sources, the pilferers stole 148,000 units and they were imposed fine Rs 2,523,000. On Tuesday, 70 domestic costumers were found pilfering electricity. They were imposed fine Rs 2,125,000.
The MEPCO team also got FIRs registered against 28 persons. The task force conducted raids in Multan, Vehari, Bahawalpur, Sahiwal, Rahim Yar Khan, Muzaffargarh, Khanewal and Bahawalngar. The pilferers were found with meter tampering, direct supply, meter dead, meter screen wash etc.
In Bahawalpur, one tubewell costumer was involved in pilfering and he was imposed fine Rs 193,000.
