Distt Sports Deptt To Organize Sports Development Programme

MUZAFFARGARH, (Muzaffargarh.City – 25th Mar, 2018 ) ::The district sports department has decided to organize Sports Development Programme 2018 for the promotion of games across the district.

District sports officer Muzaffargarh Muhammad Jameel Kamran said that Deputy Commissioner and chairman district sports committee Saif Anawar were taking keen interest in the promotion of sports.

He said they were working for the promotion of cricket, hockey, football and other games, adding that initially cricket development programme would be started. The DC would inaugurate the programme for which schedule would soon be announced.

He said that teams from four tehsils of the district would participate in the programme.

The teams have been directed to get their registration under self finance/sponsorship while sports department would arrange umpires, scorer, balls and prizes.

The players under-24 hailing from Muzaffargarh district would be eligible for participation in programme, every team can play one guest player while each team will consist of 16 players. He said that matches would be played on T-20 league system in first phase while 30 overs matches would be organized in second phase.

He said that hockey and football events would be conducted under the system and rules. Jameel informed that athletics, tug-of-war, arm wrestling, badminton, table tennis and volleyball games would be held for school kids. APP/sak/zhr
