MULTAN, (Muzaffargarh.City – 24th May, 2019 ) :Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO) caught 134 power pilferers during operations throughout south Punjab in a day, an official said on Friday.
The MEPCO teams, accompanying task forces, raided different places in Multan, Vehari, Sahiwal, Rahimyar Khan, Muzaffargarh, Bahawalnagar, Khanewal and Dera Ghazi Khan Thursday (May 23) and detected theft of 233,000 units, Mepco spokesman said.

8 million was imposed as fine on power pilferers while FIRs were got registered against 15 of them on charges of tampering with body of meters, direct supply, installing loop in meters, slowing down meters, meter dead stop and meter screen wash.
Details show that nine power pilferers were caught in Multan, 40 in Dera Ghazi Khan, 12 in Vehari, five in Bahawalpur, four in Sahiwal, eight in Rahimyar Khan, 46 in Muzaffargarh, one in Bahawalnagar, and nine in Khanewal.
